Tucuma Butter - Virgin
Tucuma butter is cold-pressed from the seeds of the Brazilian Amazon tree, Astrocaryum tucuma.Ā Tacuma is from the same family as the Murumuru palmĀ and has similar silicone-like properties. Tucuma Butter's high levels of lauric, myristic, and oleic fatty acids offer excellent skin feel and moisture-binding, while high levels of carotenoids and Vitamin A offer anti-oxidant activity and extended shelf life. Tucuma Butter is an excellent emollient and brings softness to the skin without clogging pores. Tucuma butter is unusually rich in lauric, myristic, and oleic acids which contribute excellent emollient and skin-softening properties.Ā This exotic butter gives a natural silicone gloss to dry and damaged hair, and its lubricity gives the skin a soft and smooth look. It is added to soaps, creams, lotions, body butter, conditioners, and balms.Ā
Note: Ā Natural butters and oils may melt during shipping or processing when exposed to high temperatures, and upon cooling they can sometimes re-solidify with a grainy texture or develop a thin white layer known as fat bloom (a harmless separation of fats such as stearic acid). This is a normal occurrence and does not affect the quality of your product. To restore a smooth consistency, simply warm the butter until fully liquefied, stir well, and then flash freeze in the original container or smaller jars. This process will return the butter to its creamy texture. Please note that returns are not accepted for graininess or fat blossom; if you have questions, contact us at [email protected].Ā
Common Uses:Ā This exotic light-colored butter gives a natural silicone gloss to even dry and damaged hair, and its lubricity gives the skin a soft and smooth look. It is added to soaps, creams, lotions, body butter, conditioners, and balms.
